eKonology to Unveil ‘eKoa,’
a Smart

[Sports Seoul | Reporter Shin Jae-yu] Oral care is still largely centered on treatment provided by hospitals and clinics, and there remains a lack of an environment in which individuals can proactively manage their own oral health.

Starting from this awareness of the problem, eKonology Co., Ltd. (CEO Hyunjung Oh) developed the direct-water oral irrigator “ekoA” and an AI-based mobile oral care service. Both the product and the service are designed with a focus on ease of use and individual initiative, and are drawing attention as prevention-focused oral care solutions.

Based on the initial idea, CEO Oh secured a total of nine patents, and at the 2024 World Women Inventors Expo held at KINTEX, the company received both the Gold Award and Silver Award, gaining recognition for its technological excellence and marketability.

What stands out most is the company’s rapid growth rate. After starting as a preliminary startup package in 2023, eKonology was incorporated in 2024, established an in-house corporate research center, was certified as a venture company, and obtained ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications, quickly building a solid business foundation as an early-stage startup within just two years.

In 2025, with support from the Youth Startup Academy and the Ansan Branch, the company plans to further accelerate its growth. From the second half of the year, it will begin pilot operations of its products, focusing on welfare facilities and dental clinics, while preparing for testing and mass production with the goal of launching the product in 2026. Recently, eKonology signed a joint research agreement with Kyungpook National University College of Dentistry, signaling a full-scale entry into the global healthcare market.

CEO Hyunjung Oh, who was selected as the 2025 Sports Seoul Life Special Innovation Leader Grand Prize recipient, stated, “We will evolve into a prevention-focused, data-driven oral health care solution, not just a simple oral care product.”
